For you, the student, the key thing you're looking for is your final qualification, whether it's a first degree (BA, BSc, BABA, or whatever) or a second degree (MA, MSc, MBA or whatever). Cambridge Management College offers a number of routes to get you to your final degree destination and this flexibility enables you to plan your college career to suit your own requirements. All these routes are accredited and, thus allow students to gain a Student Visa for entry to the UK. Basically, the routes break down into two different groups, one being the traditional route, much as has been the path for hundreds of years, through established university to a degree and the other a somewhat newer but much-more flexible route which we at CMC call our professional route. Fundamentally, these both end up in the same place but have different stopping points along the way. The traditional route has always been the more-academic of the two in the past, with the professional route has been derived from the qualifications which were associated with studies undertaken alongside employment. However, although the two routes have been derived from different models of delivery, they are now converging more and more as time goes on.
The Traditional Route First Degrees In the UK, the traditional route has typically been from 'A'-level qualifications to a three-year degree in university. However, this changed as educational instutions agreed on the comparative levels of qualifications and opened the way for movement between one type of qualification and another. In the case of the first degree, the introduction of two-year foundation degrees (in the USA, Associate Degrees) created qualifications which were very similar to the older and well-established Higher National Diplomas (HND's). In turn, this then led to acceptance of the HND as equivalent to the first two years of a degree by some 13 UK universities who accept the HND as fully equivalent to the first two years of their degree and allow students to enter into their third year. Other universities grant HND students 'Advanced Standing', accepting them into other stages of their degree courses, typically, the second year. Nevertheless, these qualifications are graded according to the UK-Governments classification and can offer transfer possibilities onto other courses or post-graduate qualifications in their own right.
