Section 7. Attendance

If you arrive at the College later than the date your course is due to start, we will not extend your course and you may lose your place in your class and have to wait until another place becomes available. In addition, if you cannot provide a legitimate reason for your late arrival, we may terminate your enrolment with no refund of your fees.

If, when you arrive at the College, a place in a class is not available on your start date, we will postpone your course until one becomes available. If you are unable to remain in the UK until that time, we will refund your fees in full (with no administration charge).

You must arrive punctually for classes and tutors have the right to deny entry to a class if you do not do so. You will be marked absent if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the class has started or leave more than 30 minutes before the class ends.

In addition, your place in the class may be given to another student if you are absent for 10 consecutive classes or more without informing the reception staff first. You will not then be allowed to attend the class, even if a place subsequently becomes available, without the consent of the College’s Director of Studies.

We will contact you if you are absent for 10 consecutive classes or more to inform you that you must attend, unless you have given us written notice of your absence in advance. If you continue to fail to attend without a valid reason in the College’s opinion or if your attendance falls below 80%,we may terminate your enrolment on the course and your fees will not be refunded.

If you wish to change the time of your class or move to another branch to study, the permission of the College’s Director of Studies will be required. If the class is full (in line with the College policy prevailing at that time)you will not be able to change your time nor move to the other branch until a place becomes available, and you will be required to continue to attend your class. Ifapplicable you may have to pay the difference between the tuition fees for these class times or these branches, when changing your class time or branch. No refund will be given to you if the tuition fees ofyour new class time or at the other branch are less than the fees you paid when you enrolled for the course.

Courses will not be extended due to absences which are not authorised in writing by the College or, in the case of illness, certified by your doctor. 

An up-to-date notification of the terms and conditions applying to the issuing of visa for non-EU students is provided at the time of induction.
