Section 4. Classes

The College is normally open from Monday to Friday each week, but is closed on all public/bank holidays

In each calendar year, the College is closed on the following days:

  • public/bank holidays
  • Easter holidays
  • Summer holidays
  • Christmas holidays
  • The exact dates of these holidays are posted on College notice boards and are included inside the New Student Welcome Pack which you will receive upon your arrival at the College. (Also see Calendar on this web site)

Classes start on Monday (or Tuesday, if Monday is a public/bank or other holiday). For English Language students, you must take an entry test and attend an interview before starting your course. The results of your written test and oral interview will form the basis for placing you in the appropriate level.

For English Language students, we may not have a suitable class for you when you arrive, especially if you are a complete beginner, in which case, you would be offered one of the following:

    • an extension to your course of the number of days until the next course starts
    • if (i) is not possible, your fees for the number of days you were unable to attend will be refunded (with no administration charge) at the end of your course
    • if neither (i) or (ii) are possible, your enrolment would be terminated and your fees refunded in full (with no administration charge)

Normally, morning classes start at 09.30 and finish at 13.30 with a short break.

Normally, afternoon classes will be held from 13.30 to 17.00 with a short break.

Every attempt will be made to place you in a class at the time of your choice, but if that is not possible, you must attend a class at one of the other available times.

We reserve the right to change the time of your class or breaks but you will be notified of any proposed changes as far in advance as possible.

We also reserve the right to cancel the class for any reason and without notice, in which case, you would be offered the following alternatives:

    • another class at the same level at another given time.
    • if (i) is not possible, an extension to your course of one extra day  for each class that has been cancelled
    • if neither (i) or (ii) are possible, for any of the days your classes were cancelled, your fees will be refunded (with no administration charge) at the end of your course.

The College reserves the right to change the tutors on any course at any time during the course for any reason and without any notice.

The College reserves the right to fix or change your class level as appropriate to your current level of ability.

We also reserve the right to transfer you to any existing or future premises.
