Terms and Conditions:

16. Home Office Regulations

The New Terms and Conditions for All Full-Time Non-EU Students as from 01.10.2008 as understood by Cambridge Management College

As you must be aware, the UK Border Agency is changing its immigration process to a points-based system and to incorporate a system of sponsorship for all students coming to the UK to study. The following notes have been extracted from the current Home Office Regulation for non-EU students studying full-time in the UK.

Sponsorship
1. You should ensure that a photocopy of your passport and a note on your UK immigration status showing that you are allowed to study in the UK has been forwarded to CMC.

2. Illegal Working - Under the terms of the student's normal immigration status, a student can work up to 20 hours per week during term time; this can increase to 40 hours during the vacation period. You must adhere strictly to these hours or you will be at risk of being deported.

Personal Details
We will place your existing details on file when you enrol but you must advise us immediately of any changes of address, telephone number, mobile number and email when they occur. This can be done by emailing us. It would be useful if you would confirm all these details by return for our records.

Monitoring
There are tighter regulations on reporting absences and non attendance at college. For example we will have to provide the UK Border Agency/Home Office with a report within 10 working days of any student's non attendance or non enrolment.

Secondly if you are absent from study for more than 10 working days without reasonably-granted permission from CMC we must notify the Home Office within 10 working days of the 10th day of absence.

Thirdly if you break your study or terminate your registration we must advise the Home Office within 10 working days of either event.
Finally if CMC has any suspicion if a student is breaching the conditions of their leave i.e. permission to remain in the UK, we must notify the Home Office immediately.

Qualifications/Personal Details
You will have demonstrated your ability to join the appropriate course at the time of enrolment. In addition, an annual audit of personal details, including passports, will be carried out by CMC.

Keeping Up to Date With the Regulations
You should not take this as being an exhaustive coverage but should make every effort on your own part to ensure that you comply fully with the regulations currently applicable at the time when you study in the UK and keep up to date with these. Please refer the Home Office web site for their definitive statement of terms and conditions for studying in the UK. You may read these reguations HERE
